Polkadoodles Challenge 10

Just got back from a fab holiday in Crete. Weather was hot – 40 in the shade, villa was great with a lovely big pool for us to cool off in. England, wet and depressing this morning. Why can’t we have a nice summer!!!!

On a brighter note, Nikky has just released the new Candy Doodles CD on Create and Craft. The papers are just fantastic with loads of backing papers, digitals stamps and embellishments. We were asked to follow the sketch below and then use any papers we wanted. Love these characters Polly and Jack and thought they looked so romantic together.

Orange Flowers

Sunday, 19 July 2009

A bit of embossing and stamping combined with orange and lemon. Ran some orange card through my Cuttlebug and rubbed lemon chalk ink over the top of the dots. Stamped the flowers onto patterned paper, cut them out and layered them onto check paper. Wrapped some wool round the card and added some buttons for decoration. That’s it :)

The card is similar to one I’ve done before but the background embossing was influenced by SusieB at http://www.heartprints.net/gallery/ . Her tutorials are brilliant, check them out.

Friday, 10 July 2009

On the UK thread of the Cricut Forum our challenge was to use red and ribbon but not make a romantic card. I stamped some red and black paper with white chalk ink. Stamped some flowers, cut them out and mounted them onto the card. Used buttons and ribbon to decorate.

Polkadoodles Challenge 7

Again a challenge that I hadn’t done before, make something with a hidden element. We used the cherry papers from the Sugar Birdies CD and made an extra card which I matched to the background paper. Then made a photo anchor from acetate and attached it to the card using a red brad, putting it through a cherry to disguise it. Popped Polly in the middle to wish the sender a Happy Birthday.
