Fishbourne Flat Five

Sunday, 23 May 2010

Me and my lovely hubby decided to run The Fishbourne Flat Five for the first time ever and it was also the first time we’ve ever run/jogged 5 miles. I was so nervous before the start, just kept thinking why are we doing this on a very hot May day. But it was a lovely event and very relaxed. Most of the run is off-road with lovely scenery but to be honest I hardly noticed. I need to walk round another time to take it all in. We jogged round and both finished without stopping. The race is run in memory of a friends two daughters and her partner who were killed in a car crash. The money raised goes towards a chosen charity and this year it was Fishbourne Pre-School where our son works.

Polkadoodles Challenge 20 – For Mum

Friday, 21 May 2010

Fliss set the challenge this week, to create a card in memory of her mum. Her favourite colours were blue plus peach/orange. I found these pretty tissue paper flowers online and they are so easy to make. I cut out 2 circles of patterned paper and 6 circles of tissue paper. Then layered them 1 patterned, 3 tissue and repeat. Pop a brad in the centre and scrunch the layers upward around the brad then unravel, to give a nice shabby look. I just lightly inked the tissue to add some colour.

Friday, 14 May 2010

Umm Dimension and Texture, what to do, but then came up with the idea of creating a Touch and Feel cube that babies play with. Used fur, beads, mini mirrors and crinkly flowers for soft, bumpy, shiny and rough. Papers are from All Around and Everywhere. Not sure it would conform to any health and safety guidelines though!!

My New Job

Thursday, 13 May 2010

Can’t believe that I’ve been at my new job for nearly 2 weeks already. It’s a lovely place to work, everyone is so friendly and it’s like an Aladdin's cave of goodies. They sell fabrics, haberdashery, patterns, card and scrapbooking stuff, ribbons, beautiful buttons and more plus run classes all through the year.

The http://www.eternalmaker.com/ website is going through a re-vamp, but you can always email or phone if you are interested in buying anything.

Love Birds

Wednesday, 12 May 2010

My friend asked me to make a card for her hubby, for their 25th wedding anniversary. She liked the embossing I’d done on another card and the little love charm and wanted it personalised, so with those specs, this is what I came up with.

Polkadoodles Challenge 18 – Summer Blossoms

Friday, 7 May 2010

I saw these flowers on the web, can't remember where now and thought how pretty there are. The petals are made using either U's, C's or both which you can cut out freehand, with a Cricut (which I did) or templates etc. Just touch the ends of the letter together and glue onto a circle of paper and decorate the centre as you wish. The shape of your letters will determine the shape of your flower. I used papers from All Around and Everywhere.
