Sorry this is a day late but my Wednesday just disappeared. I’ve been having a go at making simple homemade embellishments using paper, felt, buttons and twine. I’ve been limited to the colours of felt I have, but we sell scrap bags of felt at work with lots of different colours, so I will be buying one of these today. My desk looks really tidy, but I can assure you it’s not. Isn’t it great that you can crop a photo :)

Love the colours on this card, just a bit different from pink and red anniversary cards. I bought a large heart stamp which I wanted to use on this card, but when I stamped it, I realised it said “I Love You”, so not really appropriate to send to my sister and her hubby!! So I just used the heart as a template.
Materials used – A6 card blank, Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety papers, EK Success border punch, Ribbon and Button.

Oh what lovely surprise, I’ve been lucky enough to be chosen to join the Design Team at the Cuttlebug Spot for the next 3 months. There will be 12 new and 3 previous designers. I’m really looking forward to meeting them all and seeing their creations. You can check out their blogs in my sidebar. Look out for our first challenge coming your way on the 4th October.

My challenge to myself this week was to use up some stickers that I’ve had lying around for ages. I bought these Martha Stewart stickers over 2 years ago when I visited Florida and I haven’t done that much with them. I’ve made some simple everyday cards just to keep on hand. I haven’t used that many extra’s, just some Cosmo Cricket papers, border punches, buttons and some ribbon. I’ve got loads of other bits and bobs that need using up too, so keep watching.

I’m actually back in my craft room, as I had to clear the dining room table as we had friends coming to dinner!! Not to much going on this week, made a New Home card (in the background) and bought some lovely Hero Arts scallop stamps and Cosmo Cricut papers which I haven’t had a chance to use yet. I left my Cricut on the desk, hoping my lovely hubby would be able to fix it, as one of the feature button lights isn’t coming on. I was hoping it would be a simple matter of changing a bulb, but hubby doesn’t want to risk breaking it trying to take it apart.

I haven’t joined in with the Funky Hand challenges for a long time as I didn’t have any of their products apart from the free download. But a few months ago I bought Papercraft Factory which has great backing papers, alphas, wordbooks and digi stamps, but haven’t really used it much, so thought it was time to get it out and join in. For their flower challenge I went for one large flower and kept the card quite clear to make the flower the focal point.
Materials used – Square cream card blank, Funky Hand Papercraft Factory CD, Cricut plus Opposites Attract cart, Bazzil Bling cardstock, Versamagic brown and pink chalk ink, Woodware Flowers and Stems clear stamps, Heart punch, Brown gel pen, Button and Ribbon.

Still up the dining room table (and it doesn’t look to untidy!!) and making Christmas cards. Yes I know it’s only September but thought I should make a start. I’m still loving these ribbon scrap cards, and they look so effective using my Christmas tree and snowflake dies. Must make some flatter cards as it will cost me a fortune at the Post Office otherwise. My niece loves pink, so this card will be for her.
