Cuttlebug Mania - Christmas

Tuesday, 10 December 2013

Christmas is nearly upon, the tree is up, the presents are wrapped and the cards are written. I just need to buy the food and I’m done. We are spending Christmas at my Mum and Dad’s, so really looking forward to that. Hope you have a lovely day, whatever you are doing.

This is our final challenge at Cuttlebug Mania for 2013 and it’s an Anything Goes challenge, which are very popular. The theme of course is Christmas, what else. I love blue on Christmas cards so I used some very bling paper behind my squares. And I’ve managed to use an embossing folder that has been very neglected. Pop on over and see the other festive creations from our design team. See you back in 2014.

Cuttlebug Mania – Thank You

Wednesday, 27 November 2013

Autumn colours are very popular so over at Cuttlebug Mania we challenge you to use oranges, browns and yellows on your project, but this time we'd like you to make a Thank You card/project for Thanksgiving or to thank someone special.

I love this little image from Molly Bloom, I think she looks very 1940’s. I didn’t have any background paper to match my colouring, so I used the Promarkers I’d used to colour my stamp to make a dotty background. I made some dotty flowers too.

Thanksgiving Thanks
Materials used – White square card blank, White and orange cardstock, Cuttlebug plus Provocraft Spring Floral die and Sizzix Dottie Texture Plate, Molly Bloom stamp set free with Simply Cards and Papercraft, The English Stamp Company Celebrations stamp set, Assorted Promarkers, Wink of Stella pen and Half pearls.

Cuttlebug Mania - Envelopes

Tuesday, 12 November 2013

Envelopes very rarely get a second look when a card is opened, they generally end up in the bin. So this week we are making them the focal point and moving them to the front of the card at Cuttlebug Mania. So please make a card/project for any occasion featuring an envelope or maybe make a gift envelope to hold a voucher, money or perhaps a store card.

Our sponsor this week is Best Card Making Downloads and the winner can choose any 3 downloads of their choice.

Tuesday, 1 October 2013

Can you believe it’s the 1st October already, the leaves are falling, there is Christmas stuff in the shops and I’ve only just got back from my summer holiday!! But on a plus, it’s still actually quite warm, so no heating on yet.

We all love toys and I'm sure we all have a favourite from our childhood. My boys loved Lego, the possibilities are endless with those brilliant little bricks.

The design team at Cuttlebug Mania have been given some lovely digital images to work with this week featuring toys from our sponsor Paper Nest Dolls. I chose the cute Bedtime Ellie complete with her teddy. We’d love you to create a project featuring a toy and our winner will receive a $25 voucher to spend.

Cuttlebug Mania – Flying High

Tuesday, 17 September 2013

Well where did that holiday go!! We’ve just spent 2 weeks in France, one in the Alps and one in the Charente. We’ve had a fantastic time, lots of walks and bike rides, lovely company and lots of yummy food and wine, plus the delicious Pineau des Charente. It comes in Rose and White and it’s just the most gorgeous drink. Very warming and comforting and far too easy to drink!! If you ever get a chance to try some, I highly recommend it.

Pineau

On to this weeks challenge at Cuttlebug Mania and it’s Flying High. This could be birds, planes, balloons etc but the first thing that came into my head were roller coasters.  I made a little carriage out of Kraft cardstock and stamped the people behind. I thought this card was a little bit of fun. Sorry about the quality of the photo, but the light was terrible. I will be returning to make regular comments on your projects now that I’m back from my holidays.

A Taste of the Alps

Tuesday, 3 September 2013

Montgenevre looks so different without snow, but the snow gives way to beautiful flowers, insects and animals. The landscape is transformed to lush green but the mountains look cold and grey, such a contrast. What’s odd is that runs we ski down look so much steeper without snow on them. We’ve never seen a Marmot (2nd photo) because they hibernate in winter, but we saw them everywhere this time. We snapped this Marmot looking out of the window of a deserted cottage. He had made himself quite at home. We’ve also seen hundreds of Crickets in lots of different colours. They are all over the slopes and scatter everywhere as you walk. Hope you like the photos I’ve taken, I just snapped at what took my fancy.

Cuttlebug Mania – Back to Nature

Wow, wow, wow, what an amazing number of entries for our last Anything Goes challenge. I’m currently on holiday in France so I’ve tried to leave as many comments as possible, but sorry I couldn’t get round to you all.

By popular request, Cuttlebug Mania is going fortnightly. So many of you like to join in with lots of other challenges so you’ll have more time to submit your projects.

For our 1st challenge of September it’s Back to Nature, so this could be animals, trees, flowers, birds, bees etc. I made this card for my sister’s 50th birthday by paper piecing this cute bird stamp from DoCrafts. I covered some chipboard with the paper and then cut out the 50 with my Cuttlebug. I like the dimension the chipboard adds to the card.

Anything Goes – Embossing

Tuesday, 13 August 2013

I made this card for a civil wedding and I must admit I was a bit stumped at first on what to make. I found this silhouette online and thought it was perfect for the occasion. So I popped it into Word, made a 2nd copy which I then reversed, printed and cut them out. I tied a knot in a couple of small pieces of ribbon which made great cravats. I really had fun making this card, I thought it looked really elegant. At Cuttlebug Mania we’d love to see your embossing projects and you can see what the DT has created.

We are having an Anything Goes month at Cuttlebug Mania and for our first week it’s anything girlie. It could be flowers, clothes, jewellery, handbags, shoes or anything else you can think of. I enlarged a letter (can’t remember which one) from the Sewing Patterns font then printed it to make a template. I traced round this on black cardstock to make the silhouette, then did the same on patterned paper and just cut out the dress part, which I then decorated with gems and ribbon. Pop on over to see the DT’s girlie creations and check out our prize for this week.

Cuttlebug Mania – 3D Summer

Tuesday, 28 May 2013

Would you believe it, we have had a bank holiday weekend and it didn’t rain. We’ve spent the whole time in the garden doing lots of chores we haven’t been able to do because the weather has been so bad. Lovely.

My husband always knows when summer has arrived because my flip flops make an appearance :) So there was only one thing I could make for this weeks challenge at Cuttlebug Mania and that was a flip flop. I got the template from Suzanne Cimini and decorated it with some beads and die-cut flowers using a Tim Holtz die. We’d love to see your Summer 3D projects and if you enter you could be in with a chance to win these gorgeous Beach Bears from Digi Scrap Kits.
