Vellum Flowers

Friday, 29 May 2009

I really enjoyed making this card. The vellum paper is so cute, decorated with delicate little swirls. I cut the pink card and vellum flowers with my Cricut using Accent Essentials, and then layered them up, topping each with a button. Simple yet pretty card.

Polkadoodles Challenge 2

We have such great papers to work with, it’s really hard to choose, but the cherries won for this challenge. I just couldn't think what to do with sketch no 2, so it just evolved. The edges of the card and paper were ruffed up with a craft knife. Then randomly hand stitched the paper, made the frame from clear plastic packaging and attached ribbon to it with little knots, which I then threaded through the scallop. Used little tags for the sentiment. I wasn't happy with the paper I've used, but I've just bought thicker, better quality card which I will use for the next challenge.

Cricut Forum UK Thread - Butterflies and Flowers

Thursday, 21 May 2009

Butterflies must be on agenda again. For this card challenge on the Cricut Forum UK thread, we used a lovely digital stamp from Lily-Boosboutique . I decided to split the stamp. I’ve never got to grips with heat embossing, but decided to try again with the flowers and butterfly. Love the soft pastel colours of this card.

My Mums 70th Birthday

My mum has recently celebrated her 70th birthday (even though she was in denial). She love butterflies so created this card which was inspired by Envys Cashmore. I cut out butterflies in white card and vellum. Embossed the vellum butterflies and stuck them to their bases using the 3D gloss, which was perfect because it doesn’t show through.

I’ve been lazy …..

Friday, 1 May 2009

and haven’t updated my blog for ages. Naughty me. The following 2 cards were made for Challenges 13 and 14 on the Chirper Challenge blog. We were to use the following sketch plus some stitching (either real or faux) and some black. I haven’t used my Circut on either card, even though we are meant too (don’t tell). I love the pink and orange together on these and the beads stitched on the 2nd card. The cards are darker than I would normally make, but are brighter in real life.
